BHS II is a headphone/microphone unit used to make binaural recordings easily and without significant configuration effort. Like the HSU artificial head series and the BHM III headset microphone, the binaural headset makes aurally accurate recordings of sounds with two ICP® microphones. Subsequent playback gives the listener the impression of standing in the original sound field. Its low weight and removable wind screen make the BHS II binaural headset ideal for recording sounds on the go or in the field. The microphones positioned in the adjustable earpieces feature TEDS functionality and can be calibrated.

Combination with hand-held systems

Combined with the SQuadriga III and SQobold hand-held systems or the B2U USB adapter with recording and playback equalizer, the headset is used not just for recording but also for playing back sound files. The binaural headset is therefore capable of monitoring and listening to recordings on location. The built-in auto sensor of the hand-held front ends ensures equalized playback with the correct level: When connecting to the headset input of SQuadriga III or SQobold, the BHS II binaural headset is automatically configured and equalized.

Combination with HEADlab

The BHS II headset also allows aurally accurate recording via the HEADlab multi-channel measurement system. To do so, the BHS II is simply connected to a labV6, labV12 or labM6 module via a BNC adapter. The ArtemiS SUITE Recorder software configures and equalizes the recordings of the binaural headset. The headset is convenient and simple to use. This combination consequently is particularly popular for aurally accurate recordings as part of multi-channel recordings in vehicles.
