Measurement technology from HEAD acoustics receives official type approval from the Russian Federal Agency

HEAD acoustics has received the official “Certificate of Type Approval of Measuring Instruments” from the Russian Federal Agency for Technical Regulation and Metrology. Using approved software and hardware solutions is crucial for test laboratories to be certified for measurement tasks in the Russian customs union as well as manufacturers who want to launch their products on the Russian market. The certification applies to the test system consisting of the ACQUA measurement and analysis software, the labCORE hardware platform and the HMS II.6 artificial head measurement system for binaural recording and playback.

eCall tests in the automotive sector
HEAD acoustics’ certified measurement technology can be used in telecommunication applications to analyze and optimize speech and audio quality. It enables to conduct measurements of far-to-the-ear communication devices prescribed by the Russian state. This applies in particular to in-vehicle emergency call (eCall) systems in the automotive sector: For introducing a vehicle into the Russian customs union, test procedures according to the GOST 33468-2015 standard of the international EASC (Euro-Asia Council for Standardization, Metrology and Certification) are mandatory. Based on the approved equipment, HEAD acoustics now offers manufacturers the opportunity to perform measurements in the same way as the certified test laboratories in the Russian customs union and thus obtain the necessary approval for vehicles.
