The handset positioner HHP III.1 allows manufacturers to reproducibly position communication devices with handsets, cordless phones, mobile phones, smartphones (incl. devices with display speaker), and tablets of any design. For this purpose, HHP III.1 is mounted to an artificial head measurement system (HMS II.3, HMS II.3-LN, HMS II.4). Thanks to its adjustability in all three axes, the handset positioner enables to place the device in a wide range of standard or user-defined positions.
With HHP III.1, users are able to test the transfer characteristics of handsets as a function of application force according to ITU-T Recommendation P.64. The handset positioner supports both “standard test positions” (STP) according to ITU-T Recommendation P.64 for pinna types according to ITU-T Recommendation P.57 (type 3.3 and 3.4). Moreover, it fulfills the requirements regarding the “recommended test position” (RTP) specified by IEEE 269 and ITU-T Recommendation P.64.

- The handset positioner reaches almost any relevant user position within specified limits
- HHP III.1 positions conforming to international standards ITU-T P.64 and IEEE 269
Features
- The adjustability in all three axes allows to position the device under test easily and reproducibly according to any measurement requirement.
- HHP III.1 enables realistic measurements with reproducible acoustic leak between handset and ear.
- The adjustable stop bolt of HHP III.1 at its positioning jig allows faster positioning of handsets.
- The handset positioner allows exact and reproducible adjustment.
- The gauge with display unit allows precise adjustment and control of application force.
- De-mounting the clamping jaws of HHP III.1 for minimizing sound field influences is possible.
- The handset positioner is characterized by its simple calibration mechanism as well as a good fixation and range of width of handsets.
- HHP III.1 is suitable for use with the artificial heads HMS II.3, HMS II.3-LN, and HMS II.4.
- Two clamping devices are available for the handset positioner: for regular handsets (CDM-R) and for extra-wide handsets like tablets (CDM-W).
