For orientation-dependent acoustic tests, it is often required to position the test object at specific angles in the measurement field. HRT I is ideally suited for this task. The high-precision turntable rotates all kinds of test objects e.g. telephony devices, (video) conferencing systems, loudspeakers, microphones or measurement equipment like e.g. HMS with torso box to certain angles in the measurement field. Thus, the turntable HRT I is able to perform fully automated orientation-dependent tests. The rotation unit of the turntable offers a 360° rotation range, which can be approached in 0.1° steps. The adjusted angles can be reproduced to an accuracy of 0.02°.

In addition to the comfortable control via the measurement and analysis software ACQUA or the software tool RC HRT I, users are able to also control the turntable stand-alone by using programming languages like MATLAB or Python. This makes it even more flexible to integrate HRT I into test setups.

Highlights

  • HRT I enables automated high-precision orientation-dependent acoustic tests
  • The turntable has a 360° rotation range at steps of 0.1°
  • Reproducibility of the adjusted angle is ± 0.02°
  • HRT I rotates e.g. telephony devices, smart home devices, (video-) conferencing systems, loudspeakers, microphones, or the artificial head HMS

Applications

  • Automated orientation-dependent acoustic tests
  • Turntable HRT I rotates e.g.:
    • Telephones
    • Smart home devices
    • (Video-) conferencing systems
    • Loudspeakers
    • Microphones and arrays
    • Electroacoustic components
    • HMS II.x with / without torso box (and handset positioner HHP IV)

Features

  • HRT I rotates all kinds of test objects to specific angles in the measurement field.
  • Fully automatic control of HRT I via ACQUA (USB) – thanks to the RS485 interface even over longer distances.
  • Users are able to also control the turntable stand-alone via script languages like MATLAB or Python.
  • HRT I is operated either manually via buttons at the front or with the supplied software tool RC HRT I.
  • A reference position (0° position) is definable with a button at the front panel of HRT I, in ACQUA or in the software tool RC HRT I.
  • The selected measurement positions are automatically documented in ACQUA.
  • HRT I has no noise emission in measurement position and low noise emission during rotation
  • The sturdy design of the turntable allows a highly precise orientation of the test object (loads of up to 100 kg; higher loads upon request).
  • A removable cover at the center of the rotary plate allows passing the measurement object’s cabling through the turntable (90 mm diameter).
  • With the optionally available turntable expansion plate TEP-100, users can extend the rotary plate of HRT I to a total diameter of 100 cm, for example to simulate a reflecting tabletop or to test larger devices.
